So we TiVo'd Sunday's 2nd round game and then before I could watch it, I listened to an answering maching message from my father.  He said "Well, I suppose you are out of the house and doing that TiVo thing with the game.  Call me if you want to save yourself some disappointment later."  So it wasn't until there was 1:10 left in the game and the boys were up by 14 points that I believed that we were going to WIN!!!!!  aruggghhhhh!!!!

SWEET SIXTEEN COMING UP!!  Let's crush the Okies!!!

Yes, I have lost my husband to the Deadliest Catch video game that Megan so helpfully supplied...and I have lost Megan to WoW.   *sigh*
But on the plus side, I have time to read a lot of books now!  But if Scott tries to bring the laptop into the new hot tub...there WILL be words!!!

So, went to the show last night...

Lights and smoke and two old guys take the stage and everybody around me starts yelling and screaming...

I asked Scott "who are those old guys and why is everyone cheering for them?"

He says "The old guys are Air Supply"

Then I realized I was old too...

The concert was good, but the aging thing really SUCKS!!!!!!

(But the young bass player apparently thought he was playing with Van Halen the way he was jumping around doing "80's rock poses"  and flinging his bass about his body...hysterical, and at the same time kinda sad...)

We got back from NY and have been running ever since.

Jessica was down from Oregon on the 9th and we went to My Fair Lady at Music Circus with my theatre girls.

Then we did Lake Tahoe on Sunday and it was beautiful and sunny and Megan and I got sunburns because we didn't bring sunscreen to the top of the mountain and we were SO close to the sun, we burned...
Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic, but when you are as terrified of heights as I am, riding the gondola to the top is a great achievement!  (and if you wear your sunglasses, no one can see your eyes are closed in almost all the pictures!!)  Jessica and Megan even picked out a new bear for my collection because they thought this event should be commemorated...

Then Fire and Ice for dinner.  I love the fact they have places in Boston, Cambridge, Providence...and South Lake Tahoe!

We saw Tropic Thunder and most of us really liked it, but Jessica isn't such a fan of the action movies as the rest of us, so she didn't care for it...in retrospect, we probably should have gone to Mamma Mia!

Then we did the CA State Fair on Saturday...best known for deep frying everything and serving it on a stick!  It is hard for me to wrap my head around the fact they are excited about celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Fair.  I am older than the CA State Fair??  The NY State Fair started in 1841 and is the oldest State Fair in the nation.  Everything out here is still so "new", it's weird...  It's funny that it took the settlers 100 years to get out here when it only takes 5 days on I-80 now!

Air Supply at the Fair tonight...  They may be old, but they are good enough for Brad Pitt to sing along with in Mr. & Mrs. Smith!

So happy to be back...the smoke cleared out while we were gone and we can breathe without gills! (not that NY was humid or anything...)

Got mani/pedi with Lisa and Mom B on Friday. Went to lunch (my personal favorite meal to go out for) and went to see Grandma B, then to the pig roast (thankfully said pig ended up being roasted "off-site" which made the whole thing much more bearable for me!)

Wedding on Saturday was beautiful.  Neat thing they did at the reception...Jay and Melissa danced and then all the married couples joined them.  Then the DJ called out a number and if you had been married less than that, you had to leave the dance floor.  At 40, Scott's parents and Jay's parents were the only ones left, so the DJ started going up by 6 month increments.  Scott's mom and Jay's dad are brother and sister.  Scott's parents won with a "score" of 46 to 43.  It was really cool and Jay said both couples gave him an example all his life and he and Melissa would follow their lead.

By Sunday, we were exhausted and ready to come home.  We missed our little boys so much and I have to wait until 5:00 tonight to get them out of jail.  Should be interesting to see if LT attaches himself to me or if he is mad at us and gives us the cold shoulder...

I think it didn't rain yesterday...but I could be wrong...

Today was a good day though.  We had breakfast with Scott's parents, French Toast Casserole, yummy...
Then we went to Chittenango Falls.  I haven't been in years so it was really great.  With all this stinking rain, they were really flowing though, so I guess the rain wasn't all for naught...
Then we got an amazing present for Megan!  I was so happy that we found something cool.  I was beginning to despair that she was doomed to postcards.
Then we got a high end lacrosse stick for Alex and got to go out to dinner with him.  This made me very happy!
Then on the way home Scott promised me he could find me at least 3 deer in 5 minutes, and he did!  I got some video, but I think it's shaky so we are going to try again tomorrow.

Happy day all around!

Oh yeah, that's why we left NY...the weather sucks!

It rained in Maine the entire time we were there.  I got to see two more lighthouses, but they were shrouded in heavy fog and you couldn't even see the ocean.  We just assumed the ocean was there, because why else would there be a lighthouse there?  But my brother scored an enormous piece of driftwood at Owl's Head lighthouse.  Enormous... it was like 4-5 feet long and all curved.  He was very happy.

We drove aimlessly around on Wednesday and Scott didn't get his lobster.  Thursday was Freeport, home of L.L. Bean and the land of very expensive "outlet" shops that don't seem to get the concept of the word "OUTLET".  Kittery is so much better.  I don't like Freeport.  But Scott finally got his lobster and he was happy.

Then Friday we were going to Boothbay Harbour, where we honeymooned.  But Mom and Dad said we had exhausted them and they were just going to wait at the house for Chris and Marie to arrive.  So we went to Pemaquid Point lighthouse and Boothbay Harbour.  We went to "The Lobster Dock", featured on a Bobby Flay Throwdown episode on Food Network.  The crabcakes were wonderful, the haddock lovely, and from the cracking and slurping sounds eminating from the opposite side of the table, I would guess Scott's lobster was tasty.  I, however, have learned to keep my fingers clear and not try to grab a sample to verify this fact.  Then we all went to a local summer stock theatre that was showing "Merchant of Venice".  It was kind of a downer..."Jews are bad and Christians are worse"...okay, got it.

Saturday we went to Camden and the shopping was alittle better there, not so tourist-y.  I bought some great yarn that Mom is going to use to make a hoody sweater for me.  We tried to make an air show in Rockland, but it was over by the time we got organized and got there.  So we went to Owl's Head.  Then Scott had a last lobster for dinner that night and we left for Kittery in the morning.

But I didn't get to see Sam...so I was very sad.  Hopefully, we will get to see Alex while we are in NY. Maybe he'll let us all take him out for a graduation dinner or something since his graduation party was scheduled for the weekend before we got here and Mom and Dad were in Canada.

Posting from NY...
Had a great time at the ADM campout.  I miss Soo so much.  Ed and Scott had a great time golfing...then the monsoon struck and tents were crushed and clothes were soaked...however Soo and I were in the trailer eating lunch while looking out the window saying "boy is looks bad out there, hope Ed and Scott are staying dry."  (cut to Ed and Scott soaking wet and hanging off Laurie's tarp while trying to stop it from blowing away)  Then Soo and I made sandwiches for ourselves...

And the rain continues today....

Hopefully the rain stops when we get to Maine Tuesday night!

So we have been going to the movies almost every weekend for over a month.  When we didn't go in a really long time cause there was nothing to see.  Then Hollywood releases like 10 great, must-see-in-theatre movies at once.
Iron Man (5/11),
Narnia (5/23),
Indy (5/24 & 6/1),
Zohan (6/8),
Get Smart ((6/22),
Wanted (6/29)
We missed Wall-E because we chose Wanted that weekend, but then had to decide Wall-E or Hancock this weekend.  So
I made Megan and John choose which one.   I guess we will catch Wall-E next weekend...
